*sigh*  Well, as often happens, I can't get to YTDAW to apologize for this taking so long.  Down to Sleep is officially finished and posted, with a nice fat Chapter 18 and an Epilogue.  Thank you for your patience, those of you still reading, and thanks as always to cincoflex and laura27md for keeping me on the straight and narrow!  This story really belongs to them. 

I was going to post a link to the dress off of which I based Sara's, but I can't get to that either, and I'm not sure if it's because the site is down or because work is blocking me there too.  Just in case, and if anyone's interested, it's here. 

I think the muse is a closet bad-boy fan. *eyeroll* Here we go again: Working Free is Iron Man, movieverse, PG.

On the other hand, I think I might have finally finished Down to Sleep. The last chapter is in beta now and I hope to post next week some time...

 I wouldn't blame readers for giving up on me, but if anyone's still interested, Chapter 17 of Down to Sleep is now up.  *whew*

No chapter today; I am either suffering from mild food poisoning or a new and exciting form of PMS.  Unless I dramatically improve before I get home, I'm-a goin' to bed as soon as I feed the cats.

I had a lovely evening last night with laura27md , including great food and discussion and of course the latest CSI ep.  I got home late, but planned to post Ch. 12 of DtS as soon as my computer booted up. 

Yeah, well. 

First there was the notice on my apartment door, stating that my building was going to be de-bugged APRIL 4TH*, and would I please empty the closets, vacuum everything, strip the bed, etc., etc.   *sigh*  It was 11:30 PM.  Not going to happen. 

Then I found out my Internet connection was down.  I fiddled with it for a while, but sometime in the wee hours I gave up and went to bed without posting.  It did occur to me that I could in theory do a voice post to LJ explaining the delay in the chapter, but I've never done one of those so I didn't have the number.  And without the Internet, I couldn't look it up...  *eyeroll* 

I was late to work, and walked in to be greeted by several minor crises snarling around my ankles.  Fortunately they weren't hard to deal with.  The upshot of all this whining, however, is that Ch. 12 of DtS is now up.  Finally! 


*In other words, today.  This is not the first time this has happened, and the apartment management and the pest company each blame the other for this lack of scheduling.  So after I managed to get a hold of the pest company this morning (making me late for work) I put a sign on my door telling them not to come in.  It's not like the pesticide actually achieves anything anyway. 

Chapter 12 is giving me fits.  So I'm going to put Down to Sleep on a week's hiatus to hammer the thing into proper submission.  *sigh*  I'd rather be late than put up a chapter not up to snuff.

Down to Sleep is going to be tardy today; I'm attending Maundy Thursday services and won't be home until late.  I do plan to post, though. 

 Okay, a day late if not a dollar short (at least I hope not).  Chapter 7 of Down to Sleep is up.  And when work cooperates, I'll announce it on YTDAW as well.

Since work  won' t let me onto YTDAW right now, I can't modify my post to say that Ch. 6 is up at FF.net.  *sigh*  I don't mind the occasional bit of FF.net downtime--I don't pay a thing for it and I rarely have problems, last night was the first in quite some time--but work's inconsistency with YTDAW is baffling and somewhat irritating.  It's not banned...it just won't connect.  Some of the time.  

Oh well.  It's Friday... 

Chapter 2 of  Down to Sleep is now up.  It's a slow starter, but it'll pick up eventually. 

 As promised, I've begun posting Down to Sleep, which is the story I started for my NaNo.  This is an idea that I've wanted to explore for some time; it's been done before, but not (to the extent of my knowledge) in this form.  It's gonna be dark and angsty, and if you choose to read be warned that it includes the nongraphic deaths of children.  

I want to mention here, since I forgot to do it in the story comments, that cincoflex  also gave me the title for this one.  Sometimes titles come to me, and sometimes they don't; she came up with the absolutely perfect one this time.  

And I also want to note that it was laura27md 's lovely homemade chai mix that got me awake enough to post it before work!  *grin*  Delicious.   

I'm getting close to finishing my NaNo CSI fic, and it looks like it's gonna be fifteen chapters at least. So in the interests of my more-than-patient readers, My First Poll (TM):
