I liked the whale, though

I just had a very long and involved dream (day nap dreams are often the most vivid) involving cats, cat food, elaborate jewelry, abused Victorian urchins, swimming pools containing seals and whales, house parties, a dead black bear, amusement park rides, musicals and actresses, and a cockatoo with cookies.  It ended with Tony Stark trying to convince me, very somberly, that I had to read more of the tragic "classic" fiction I so loathe (hey, brain, Heart of Darkness is not set in Tibet, and you read it in college, not high school) so I could write better fanfiction.  And then there was hail, to prove I didn't understand California autumns.

He may even have been right, but I refuse to read that stuff.

Yeah, okay.  There really isn't an explanation for this one.  Let's just say that chatting with [info]cincoflex produces some interesting ideas.  She made the gorgeous banner, and also came up with some of the best lines in this story.  And graciously gave permission for their use.

Please do not call me on the science.  I know the seams show, but the two universes don't fit exactly.  Many thanks to [info]amonitrate for mentioning the Disney/Marvel Mash-Up Meme, [info]jamaillith for hosting it, [info]wabbitseason for having the same weird idea, and [info]sairobi for the last line!

I have no real opinion about Disney's buyout of Marvel, but my muse took the idea and ran with it, clear out past left field and into a non-Euclidean space.  Libra is Tony/Pepper and rated G, and the gorgeous banner is by [info]cincoflex!  Seriously, it couldn't be more perfect.

huh
Disney's buying up Marvel? * Hm.  I give it six months before Tony's running the place.

...for which I would like to issue a formal malediction to [info]mona_lisa303 and [info]4persephone (minus the sprout, of course). *ahem* May the curse of Mary Malone and her nine blind orphan children pursue you so far over the hills and seas that God Almighty can't find you with a radio telescope. Not that I believe He can't find anyone anytime anyway.

Still. I did NOT need a new one, thank you very much. *flounce*  I'm-a goin' to bed now.

Okay, the haiku are mine--she challenged me yesterday--but she illustrated them. Aren't they marvelous? :D Thank you, dearest!

Plus the whole haiku idea is fun. Try some of your own.

This appears to be a new author, but goodness knows if they were writing somewhere else previously.  The skill certainly implies it.  Step One by Aaron Cronin is a quick Iron Man story that manages to be both funny and touching at the same time--and that addresses an issue that often goes ignored.  Very clever, and a read that leaves me wanting more.

Lost and Found

This is my little virus-bunny from April, finished and tidied up.  Lost and Found is rated NC-17 for smut-lite, and is Iron Man and Tony/Pepper.  It's also more angsty than I usually get, but this is an idea I've wanted to explore for some time. Many, many thanks to [info]cincoflex for betawork, enthusiasm, major reassurance, patiently rereading, and of course the banners. And a special thanks to [info]mingsmommy for another POV and expert advice on Charleston!

Palmer's Kiss
Whaddya know, I'm done.  *boggle*

[info]cincoflex once again made the banner (I've been saving this one) and encouraged, admonished, cheered, shored up, and in all ways made this story possible. I've been writing it since last autumn; you'd think she'd get tired of it, but she soldiered on! *wink* Thank you, love.

Palmer's Kiss, Chapter 15 and Epilogue.  Thanks for reading!

Quick and unbetaed, inspired by comments about spoilers on the [info]tonypepper community. Heh. Rated PG just to be on the safe side. Please note, I know almost nothing about the comics, so I'm faking most of this.
