Well, I got a cold that made me too tired to write, and then I discovered that my carefully hoarded bunny was nowhere near active enough to sustain the pressures of NaNo.  So I am bowing out of it this year, and will turn my attention to cheering cincoflex on. 

It's not a bad story, if I may be permitted the hubris; this is just not its time. 

I must admit, starting a story with the line "The ducks were late" affords a certain peculiar satisfaction.
